About the event

We have an amazing opportunity for 15 new mums (child's age up to 2 years) to participate in a series of 4 sessions dedicated to  wellbeing. We understand the pressures of becoming a new mum, and how easy it can be to lose yourself and identity, so we have created a series of workshops to help you connect with yourself and others, and also help with your body's stress levels and resilience.

The areas covered have, for a long time, been considered a bit 'woo woo',  however, more and more evidence is coming to light that shows just how these things work on the body and mind to help with overall wellbeing.

These 2 hour sessions will include the following modalities (or combinations of these), with a carefully selected instructor covering specific areas:

Yoga & Meditation

Breathwork and Qi Gong

Sound bath

Polyvagal theory & the nervous system

The exact format for each workshop is still a work in progress, but what we can say is, each workshop will have different elements within it - you will NOT be sat listening to someone talk for 2 full hours! It will be interactive and you will be doing/experiencing these activities too. We want to show you the how, through doing, and teach you why these things are so helpful to your wellbeing through providing context and knowledge.

We aim to bring a retreat like atmosphere, while teaching skills that will be useful for your mental health and wellbeing, at a time you are doing the hard job of adapting to life with infants.

These sessions are funded and would otherwise cost around £200 for the 4 week block. We are asking for a £10 contribution to secure your place - the reason for this is to increase commitment and prevent no-shows (as this has often been a problem for us with free events). We understand that times are tough for everyone at the moment and we don't want finances to be a barrier to access, so you may request a refund at the end of the 4 weeks, provided you have attended all 4 sessions. Alternatively, if you valued the sessions and feel able to, you can donate the money to us. This will go towards the ongoing running costs of the CIC and help towards running more free events in the future.
